VP of Designs said, “Alan, go look at this UI and fix it.”

2017

The UI of the core phone system product exhibited signs of being dated and lacking usability, hindering the overall user experience. Outdated design elements and functionalities fail to meet modern user expectations, resulting in frustration and inefficiency.

My responsibility was to address these issues requires a comprehensive overhaul, focusing on modernizing the interface with intuitive navigation, visually appealing aesthetics, and streamlined workflows to enhance usability and engagement.

2018-2019

The major overhaul of the UI involved a strategic redesign process aimed at transforming the user experience from outdated to exceptional. Beginning with thorough user research, revisit the information architecture and identify pain points and user needs to inform the new design direction.

Through collaborative ideation and prototyping, we iterate on concepts to create a visually stunning and intuitive interface. Key elements of the overhaul include modernizing design aesthetics, enhancing usability through simplified navigation and interactions, and optimizing performance for seamless user interaction. User testing and feedback loops ensure the redesigned UI meets user expectations and achieves our goals of elevating the overall user experience.

2023 onward

The next-generation experience will be responsive, adapting seamlessly to various devices and screen sizes to provide a consistent and optimal user experience across all platforms. By leveraging flexible design frameworks and fluid layouts, the UI will dynamically adjust its content and layout, ensuring accessibility and usability regardless of the device used. Incorporating responsive design principles will enhance engagement and satisfaction, empowering users to interact with the interface effortlessly whether they're on a desktop, tablet, or smartphone.

And most importantly the next-generation UI will share the same look and feel with the other products across the company portfolio which is the second project that will cover next.
